From the fear of the plane crashing even though you know it’s probably not going to happen, to the full on panic attacks he experiences. Jimmy, the main character, has anxiety and has a few panic attacks throughout the book, and everything about this was so incredibly relatable to me. One of the things I appreciated most about the book was the anxiety rep. I Was Born For This meant the entire world to me, and more. And when Angel and Jimmy are unexpectedly thrust together, they will discover just how strange and surprising facing up to reality can be. It’s just a shame that recently everything in his life seems to have turned into a bit of a nightmare.īecause that’s the problem with dreaming – eventually, inevitably, real life arrives with a wake-up call.
